Proven and Natural Cure for Herpes (HSV Type 1 and 2)

Everything You Need to Know About Herpes – And How To Banish It From Your Life Forever!

It’s never fun discovering that you might have herpes, but take a little bit of comfort knowing that the overwhelming majority of the global population is in the same boat with you.

According to information published by the World Health Organization (WHO) nearly 67% of the world’s population are infected by the HSV-1 strain of herpes simplex, a figure that basically boils down to more than 3.7 billion people worldwide living with this condition.

Yes, that’s billion with a “B”.

The American Center for Disease Control (CDC) also suggests that one in every six individual around the world has genital herpes (a variation of the herpes simplex virus), and that the overwhelming majority of them are unaware of the fact that they are living with this medical condition all along.

In fact, the majority of people living with either two types of herpes (oral herpes and genital herpes) are blissfully unaware of the fact that they have herpes in the first place. Many – if not most – of the people around the world living with this condition never present symptoms that would include them in to the fact that they have this virus, and even those that do present symptoms do so on such a rare occasion that they usually give it little to no thought whatsoever.

This has become a little bit of a double-edged sword, however. While it’s nice to go through life without ever having to deal with the symptoms of herpes, it does often put people in a pretty sticky situation when they either pass the herpes simplex virus on to someone else or eventually have the symptoms present themselves – only to believe that someone else gave them herpes, rather than understanding that they themselves were carrying the virus all along.

Some pretty awkward conversations can be had between partners that could have otherwise been avoided altogether with just a little bit of due diligence, research, and understanding.

Hopefully by the time you’re done with all the quick inside information about herpes we share below – information pertaining to the virus itself, modern medical and natural remedies designed to clear up symptoms in a hurry, and how you can best fight back against this virus going forward – you won’t have to worry about having to conduct those kinds of conversations in the future.

Let’s dive right in!

Root Causes of Herpes

Right out of the gate it’s important to understand that there are two specific types of herpes that you may be living with, either individually or both at the same time.

Herpes Simplex Virus Type I (HSV-1) is easily the most common of the herpes variants, and is the herpes that most people describe as oral herpes. Herpes Simplex Virus Type II (HSV-2) is a lot less common and is generally only ever going to present itself as a genital herpes outbreak.

While these viruses are different and distinct, they share so many similarities that most medical professionals refer to them interchangeably as simply “herpes”. On top of that, HSV-1 can also present itself orally as well as on the genitals (though it will rarely present as genital herpes), which adds a lot to the overall confusion.

Type I herpes usually manifest and cold sores or fever blisters around your mouth, and this version of the virus is most often spread through direct skin on skin contact. If someone that has Type I herpes kisses someone while their symptoms are present the odds of transmission are sky-high, for example.

Because HSV-1 is spread through skin on skin contact it’s also possible to spread oral herpes to the genital area during oral sex, though the odds of this happening are a lot lower than one would expect or anticipate.

HSV-2 is spread through skin on skin contact, but it can also be spread through sexual contact and bodily fluids. A lot more contagious than HSV-1, HSV-2 can be spread even when zero symptoms are obvious or being presented (unlike oral herpes).

The virus dies rapidly as soon as it is outside of the body, but there have been cases of people being infected by both types of herpes from inanimate objects that have come in contact with skin or fluids containing the virus. The odds of this happening are astronomically high however, especially when compared to the other forms of direct transmission we have already highlighted.

There are a couple of risk factors that contribute directly to whether or not you may become infected with oral or genital herpes, including (but not limited to):

  • Kissing anyone that has or has recently had cold sores or fever blisters on or around the mouth
  • Sharing utensils or glassware with someone that has oral herpes
  • Having multiple sexual partners, with each new partner increasing your risk factors of exposure

On top of that, just being a woman is enough to have your risk factor of coming down with herpes go through the roof. Men are three times less likely to have herpes transmitted to them compared to women, with the virus much more easily sexually transmitted from men to women as well.

Common Symptoms of Herpes to Lookout For

As we have already highlighted above, the overwhelming majority of people living with herpes are going to have absolutely no idea that they have this virus living inside of them in the first place.

Most people are asymptomatic, and even those that do present symptoms usually only have one “breakout” anywhere between two and 12 days after they have been exposed to the virus. An individual may only have one or two herpes breakouts in their entire life, if they have a breakout at all.

At the same time, those that do have a herpes breakout are going to immediately recognize the symptoms, symptoms that include (but are not limited to):

  • Itchiness, tenderness, and acute pain around your mouth or on your genital area
  • Tiny red bumps, white blisters, or other lumps and blemishes around your mouth or on your genital area
  • Ulcers, blisters, and oozing or bleeding wounds
  • Scabbed up skin

You might also begin to notice flulike symptoms during the initial wave of the outbreak. You might have to contend with swollen lymph nodes, massive headaches, muscle aches and fatigue, and may even have to contend with a fever during the first few days symptoms present themselves.

The bulk of oral herpes symptoms are going to present themselves on the outside of your body, but it’s not at all uncommon for cold sores and fever blisters to present themselves inside your lips and inside of your cheeks as well.

Men and women may develop genital herpes sores on their:

  • Backside and thighs
  • Anus or urethra
  • Penis or vaginal area
  • Cervix or scrotum

Most often these kinds of conditions are going to be highly localized, with a handful of sores or blisters in a very specific and tightly confined area. Very rarely you may deal with sores that are spread all over and more dispersed.

How is Herpes Diagnosed?

There are a couple of different ways your doctor can conclusively diagnose you as living with one of the two different herpes viruses. All of them will require you visiting your doctor person and potentially submitting yourself to a battery of different tests.

These tests are necessary, however, to conclusively prove that you are infected dealing with herpes and not some other underlying medical condition.

Viral cultures may be collected if the symptoms are still presenting themselves. Tissue samples of the outbreak area will be collected and examined in a laboratory, and results are almost immediate.

A blood test can also conclusively determine whether or not you have herpes simplex living inside your body, even if you haven’t presented symptoms anytime soon – if ever. This is a great way to get checked even if you only want to have peace of mind knowing exactly what you are up against.

A Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) examination may be called for as well. A copy of your DNA from a sample of your blood, a sample of body tissue from an open sore, or a collection of your spinal fluid will be examined to better understand whether or not you are dealing with the HSV virus as well.

All of these tests can provide you with conclusive results with very little confusion about your situation moving forward.

Why Hasn’t Herpes Been Cured?

You think that when more than two thirds of the world’s population was afflicted with a specific virus that the global medical industry would be working double overtime to come up with a cure – if only because a cure could mean hundreds of billions, if not trillions, but dollars in profit.

HSV (in both of its variations) is one of the most common viral infections anywhere on the planet, but today we still have no cure for this medical condition and one isn’t the horizon, either.

It’s not for lack of trying, however.

A considerable amount of serious medical researching organizations have been working away at creating a cure for herpes simplex for decades now, but all of them agree that this is one of the most challenging diseases to try and understand, let alone eradicate completely.

For one thing, the “DNA” of this virus is cagey enough to be next to impossible to pin down inside of the body. On top of that, the virus can really only be studied when someone is symptomatic. As we’ve already touched upon a couple of times, most people will never percent symptoms or will only percent symptoms a handful of times which really limits the research potential.

Finally, at the end of the day the herpes virus just isn’t that high up on the totem pole as far as diseases to cure and improve humanity is concerned.

The herpes virus is pretty much harmless (as long as you aren’t in an infant or elderly when the symptoms strike), and aside from some unsightly blisters and blemishes you really aren’t going to have to contend with any serious health risks associated with this condition.

A cure and vaccine is in the works to be sure. But companies aren’t burning the midnight oil to figure out how to banish this virus from our lives forever the way they are working on things like cancer, for example.

New Research Shows Herpes Might Be More Dangerous Than Previously Thought

While herpes isn’t going to devastate your internal organs or pose a serious health risk to you biologically, new research certainly suggests that herpes will have a tremendous impact on your well-being – particularly from a psychological standpoint.

Genital herpes in particular is tremendously stigmatized, and the moment that people are diagnosed with genital herpes – and even before that, the minute that the symptoms start to present themselves – people can feel like they are social, dating, and romantic lives are pretty much over.

Researchers have noticed a significant upswing in depression with those that have been diagnosed with genital herpes, and upswing that is in line with the diagnosis of any sexually transmitted infection (STI).

People report feeling unworthy, unlovable, and like they are going to have an almost impossible time telling any of their partners that they have herpes – and that they might be better off being celibate rather than running the risk of “getting caught” with sores on their genitals or passing along this infection to someone else.

Those that have been sexually abused, or dealing with a relationship filled with sexual violence, or those that are in unhealthy relationships in general can find themselves having a tough time getting out of the relationship after discovering they are diagnosed with herpes. They may feel like they are lucky to be in any relationship at all, and that they have to stay in the unhealthy situation they find themselves in simply because they aren’t sure if anyone else would be as understanding about their herpes situation.

All of this can have a devastating impact on young people in particular.

At the same time, there are plenty of young people online sharing their herpes stories and telling people that it allowed them to fall back in love with themselves, particularly since they became “pickier” about romantic partners that they would inevitably end up disclosing their herpes diagnosis to.

While there is no cure or vaccination or herpes (right now), there are plenty of treatment options available for you to take advantage of – treatment options that can help you lead a herpes symptom-free lifestyle.

Medical solutions available from your primary care or emergency care physician are going to vary, but during your initial outbreak you’ll usually receive a brief round of antiviral/antibiotic medications – almost always prescription grade.

This round of medication will usually last anywhere between a week and 10 days, but if you’re sores and symptoms persist beyond that initial timeline your doctor will usually prescribe a second round of these medications to help you get rid of the symptoms ASAP.

Genital herpes prescription medications include Zovirax, Famvir, and Valtrex and are considered to be amongst some of the most powerful and reliable medications on the market today. They work wonders when you are dealing with an outbreak, but aren’t all that effective for more intermittent or suppressive treatment plans.

If you want to be sure to keep your herpes symptoms in check and as invisible as possible you want to speak to your doctor about moving forward with intermittent treatment options that can be taken once a week or so or suppressive antiviral drugs that will have to be taken every day.

Natural remedies and treatments exist as well and many of them work wonders. A warm compress placed against the impacted area of skin, a baking soda paste applied to the affected area, topical applications of raw garlic directly on herpes sores, and even a topical application of apple cider vinegar to the impacted area can help clear up this virus much sooner than you would have thought possible before.
